Our team of dedicated educators specializes in areas like autonomous systems, artificial intelligence, data science, mathematics & algorithms, high performance computing, intelligent design and manufacturing, game development, and more, bringing together diverse experiences and expertise that uniquely position us to make a substantial impact.

Our educators each bring unique strengths - from extensive competitive robotics experience to advanced engineering and programming capabilities - allowing our center to cater to a wide spectrum of students, from early years all the way to high school. Whether it is our deep understanding of product lifecycle and mechanical engineering, our expertise in competitive robotics design and innovation, our passion for autonomous systems and system integration, our exceptional proficiency in mathematics and engineering software, or our commitment to nurturing young learners through foundational coding, our team as one ensures that every student can discover their passion and maximize their potential.

Senior Instructor

Gary Lai

Gary is a dedicated educator at our center, specializing in robotics, engineering design, and manufacturing. He earned his bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland, where he developed a strong foundation in numerical and logical reasoning, particularly in statistical techniques relevant to machine learning and data science. This academic background laid the groundwork for his advanced studies in engineering.

Pursuing his passion for engineering, Gary completed a master's degree in Automotive Engineering Design and Manufacturing at Scuola Politecnica di Design in Milan. During this period, he honed his engineering design skills through collaborative projects with esteemed automotive firms such as Lamborghini and Ducati, contributing to innovative product developments. His comprehensive exposure to the entire product lifecycle — from design and manufacturing to testing — significantly enhanced his expertise in CAD/CAM engineering.

Between his academic pursuits, Gary dedicated over a decade to educating young learners in STEM fields across various regions, including Hong Kong, mainland China, Japan, and Australia. His teaching experience spans formal roles in private institutions and schools, as well as personalized tutoring for students from early years through high school. His genuine passion for nurturing future generations has been a driving force throughout his career.

For the past five years, Gary has been an integral part of our center in Macau, delivering both foundational and advanced courses in robotics, 3D printing, game design, and leading competitive robotics initiatives. Beyond imparting technical skills, he emphasizes the development of soft skills such as communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and critical thinking. His approach is instrumental in guiding students toward success and helping them make informed decisions. Well-regarded by students, Gary cherishes his interactions with them both inside and outside the classroom.

In his leisure time, he engages in sketching — both by hand and digitally — constructs miniature machines, and enjoys gaming. He takes pleasure in sharing his creative 3D prints with students, further inspiring their interest in technology and design.

Edwin Ho

Edwin is a passionate educator at our center, leading our robotics competition initiatives and inspiring young makers. He completed his high school education at Escola Kao Yip in Macau, later earning a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics from National Taiwan Ocean University in Keelung. During his undergraduate studies, Edwin actively participated in battle robot competitions such as Robo One, cultivating deep expertise in competitive robotics design and engineering.

Returning to his alma mater, Escola Kao Yip, Edwin dedicated four years to teaching robotics. He was instrumental in advancing their competitive robotics program, creating intricate 2D and 3D sketches used for CNC machining, laser cutting, and 3D printing of competition robot parts. Highly regarded by his colleagues and beloved by his students, Edwin significantly raised the school's robotics profile, accumulating numerous awards and achievements, and establishing himself prominently in the youth robotics competition community.

At our center, Edwin brings his wealth of experience to guide students in designing, building, and testing innovative robotics subsystems. Constantly pursuing new mechanical ideas, he ensures our designs remain cutting-edge and inspirational. Outside the classroom, Edwin enjoys relaxing at home, watching movies, and gaming.

Loki Ho

Loki is a dedicated educator at our center, specializing in robotics and autonomous systems. He grew up in Macau and completed his high school education at Escola Tung Sin Tong. He earned his bachelor's degree in Robotics Engineering from Northeastern University in Shenyang, Liaoning, where he engaged in diverse projects such as self-guided drones, underwater robotics systems, self-balancing robots, 3D printing technology, electric circuit design, microcontroller design, and creative robot design to solve specific problems.

Proficient in advanced technologies like YOLO, OpenCV, PID control, VINS, and EGO Planner, Loki is adept at developing autonomous systems and implementing sophisticated algorithms for real-world robotic applications. His expertise extends to microcontrollers and AI computing platforms, including Raspberry Pi, Arduino, Nvidia Jetson Nano, STM32, ESP32, and RP2040. With experience in both hardware and software, he excels at system integration tasks, bridging the gap between the two domains.

Passionate about new developments in autonomous systems and artificial intelligence, Loki aims to significantly enhance our aerial and land-based robot offerings. He has a fondness for children and possesses a gentle demeanor, making him approachable and well-liked among students. Having aspired to be a teacher since his youth, he views his role at our center as the fulfillment of that dream. In his free time, Loki enjoys tinkering with gadgets and exploring new ideas.

Senior Instructor

Yuki Ho

Yuki Ho is a dedicated educator at our center, specializing in teaching Scratch and C/C++ programming to students ranging from early years through high school. She also instructs mathematics, with a particular emphasis on Olympiad-level math. Yuki holds a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, where she specialized in renewable energy technologies and battery systems. During her university studies, she worked on projects involving computational software like MATLAB and Simulink to model and achieve desired performance targets for solar technologies. She also gained experience with simulation software such as Ansys and Fluent, which are used for analyzing heat transfer, fluid dynamics, solid mechanics, and stress and strain.

At university, Yuki was actively involved in competitive robotics, such as RoboMaster, where she played a vital role in programming combat robots and coordinating feedback with team members to enhance circuitry for maximum performance. In high school, she was a member of the math Olympiad team, the physics Olympiad team, and the competitive robotics team. Her efforts contributed to her high school achieving top rankings at national events in mainland China. As a result, she has extensive experience in competitions, both in academic and professional settings.

Prior to joining our center, Yuki worked for several years at Hikvision in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, contributing to the development of Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) and production line robots. Her experience has made her proficient in C++ and Robot Operating System (ROS) systems. She is particularly fluent in using C++ for developing subsystems in autonomous machines, such as sensor integration, motion planning, and control algorithms. Passionate about teaching and known for her kindness and patience, Yuki has successfully guided students to participate and win in mathematics and coding competitions.

We are very fortunate to have Yuki at our center as the only female instructor teaching robotics, programming, and mathematics. She serves as an inspiration for girls who aspire to pursue studies in these fields. In her free time, she enjoys engaging in arts and crafts and playing music.

Justin Chao

Justin Chao is a dedicated educator at our center, specializing in teaching elementary-level Scratch and Python programming to young learners, including kindergarteners and early primary school students. Beyond foundational coding for math and logic, he excels in guiding students through game and animation design, introducing them to platforms like Pygame and Unity. With several years of experience teaching children, including those with special needs, Justin is passionate about fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment. He holds a law degree from the University of Macau and completed his high school education at Yuet Wah College. Notably, some of his students have achieved success in elementary-level coding competitions.

Prior to joining our center, Justin taught at various private learning centers, gaining extensive exposure to children and their diverse learning needs. He cares deeply about children's learning experiences and invests significant effort into designing courses that cater to their specific requirements. His immense patience and dedication help guide younger students on the right path, assisting them in achieving their goals. Justin enjoys engaging in conversations with children and is known for his caring nature. In his free time, he enjoys reading and learning new skills, staying updated on new trends in society.
